Rules + Prize

Two-tour pool, three modes, two separate standings. Men's draw is the prize pool. Women's draw is just for fun.

๐Ÿ† Prize pool โ€” Men's draw

$

The Men's draw decides the pot.

Whoever ends Wimbledon with the highest Men's total (Men's draft + Men's bracket + Men's-pool wildcards) takes the pot โ€” โ€” and counting. Winner picks the restaurant, pot covers the table.

One entry per account. Pay your $10 through Stripe to enroll in the prize pool โ€” fun-only entries still score on the leaderboard but skip the payout. Ties broken by Men's bracket points, then earliest entry.

โ˜…

Women's draw โ€” purely for fun.

Same scoring, same lock โ€” but Women's points have no bearing on the prize. Draft a WTA squad, fill the WTA bracket, score Women's-pool wildcards. The Women's leaderboard stands on its own.

Why split? Because dinner is one prize and the easiest way to argue about "who won" is to tie it to one draw. Pick the Men's draw for the money, the Women's draw for the bragging.

1 ยท Player Draft

Two squads of 8 players each โ€” one Men's, one Women's. 20-point cap per squad. Prices come from the seed list. Top seed costs 10pt. Unseeded floor at 1pt.

Fibonacci-ish ladder

Every round still matters even if you're "out" โ€” a deep dark-horse run outscores an early-exit chalk pick. Two-time defending champion lost in R64? Bad for your draft, but the +2 they banked still counts.

2 ยท Bracket Pick'em

Fill the full bracket โ€” every round is clickable in the draws view, and every pick scores. R128 + R64 are small per-pick points (you fill them anyway), R32 onwards scales up, and QF / SF / Final add a confidence multiplier (1โ€“7). Winners of each round auto-fill the next round's TBD slot via cascade.

Picks lock per match. Each match โ€” R128 all the way through the Final โ€” stays editable until that specific match's first ball, including the confidence weight on QF/SF/F. No single Sunday-night cutoff for the bracket; just the match clock.

F+64+8 ร— seed-gap-tier

Confidence weighting (QF / SF / F)

Rank your 4 QF + 2 SF + 1 F picks 1‑7, and each value 1‑7 gets used exactly once per tour (7 slots in the men's bracket, 7 slots in the women's bracket, ranked independently). Payout ร— (rank / 4). True NCAA-style โ€” you can't stack 7s on every pick.

Worked example (correct QF pick, base = 16): conf 1 โ†’ 16 ร— 1/4 = 4 pts (your least-sure pick). conf 4 โ†’ 16 ร— 4/4 = 16 pts (identity, same as an un-ranked correct pick). conf 7 โ†’ 16 ร— 7/4 = 28 pts (your lock of the round). Same ratios on SF (32โ†’[8..56]) and F (64โ†’[16..112]). Put your 7 on the pick you'd bet your rent on โ€” and wear it if you're wrong. Rewards conviction, punishes "chalk every line and pray."

3 ยท Daily Wildcard

One pick a day for 14 days. Pick any flavor you want, any day, and tag it as a Men's-pool or Women's-pool wildcard when you save. The points (and any streak bonus the pick triggers) credit to that pool's total. No forced rotation โ€” read the slate, pick the angle you like best, get paid by the flavor's own payout.

Streak bonus. 3 in a row = +5 ยท 5 in a row = +12 ยท 7 in a row = +25. Resets on a miss. Lock-time: the instant today's first match starts โ€” no late entries. One wildcard per day; change your flavor up to lock.

Late-tournament spice (days 11โ€“14)

QF onward, every wildcard scores 2ร— base and streak bonuses 2ร—. Compresses the comeback window into the part everyone's still watching. Loss penalties (Lock โˆ’1 becomes โˆ’2, F-prop โˆ’2 becomes โˆ’4) scale too โ€” late stakes cut both ways.

Per-pool scoring + tiebreakers

Two standings, computed separately. Wildcards count toward the pool the picker assigned them to at save time (Men's or Women's).

Men's total = Men's draft + Men's bracket + Men's-pool wildcards
Women's total = Women's draft + Women's bracket + Women's-pool wildcards

Men's pool tiebreakers (prize pool):

  1. Men's bracket points
  2. Earliest entry timestamp

Women's pool tiebreakers (for fun):

  1. Women's bracket points
  2. Earliest entry timestamp

Spirit of the game

It's a Wimbledon dinner pool. We're not selling anything. Don't argue about the +0.5 ร— seed-gap-tier on a confidence-weighted upset bonus โ€” that's how you don't get invited next year.
